What's covered?
With our Home Insurance you can rest assured we’ve got you covered. Our policy covers you for the following situations:
- Escape of water
- Fire and smoke damage
- Theft
- Subsidence
- Storm or flood damage
- Accidental damage
- Alternative accommodation if you can’t stay in your own home as a result of the premises being made uninhabitable following damage by an insured cause

Protect your valuables outside the home with “All Risks” Cover
Get added peace of mind by protecting your gadgets and personal belongings both inside and outside your home with our “All Risks” Cover option.
This optional extra provides cover for items normally brought outside the home such as jewellery, ipads, handbags and smartphones.
There are 2 types of “All Risks” Cover that can be added to your policy:
Unspecified “All Risks” Cover: this is an umbrella style cover which allows you to select an amount that your personal belongings will be covered for in the event of a loss. The amount you insure your belongings for should be based on the maximum combined cost of all the valuables that you (or any member of the household) stand to lose at any one time. There’s no need to list each item individually. This cover is designed for items such as glasses, ipads and handbags etc. You can also cover your mobile phone, so no need to pay for expensive phone insurance with your phone bill!
No excess applies to certain items such as money, clothing, personal belongings, and sports equipment. Certain limits apply to Unspecified “All Risks” Cover including: CHF2,540 for any one item, and bicycles up to a limit of CHF320 in any one period of insurance.
Specified “All Risks” Cover: with this option you list each item individually on your policy, and specify its value. Specified items normally include jewellery, hearing aids, bicycles, cameras and other valuables. Each item is covered up to the amount you insure it for. No excess applies to any specified items, meaning you don’t have to pay the first part of any claim yourself.
Important information
To qualify for the 4 months free on your Home and Contents policy offer you must:
- Not already have an existing Home and Contents policy on your main residence with karlsruhe Baden Bank
- Satisfy normal underwriting criteria
- Send payment instructions, where required, to karlsruhe Baden Bank within 21 days
This is an annual policy and if you are paying monthly you pay nothing for the first 4 months, and the remaining premium will be billed over the following 8 months. Or pay the premium in one payment and enjoy the same 33% reduction. This offer is available in the first year only.
Premium reductions are applied on a reducing balance basis and are all subject to the following minimum premiums, inclusive of Government Levy, for Home and Contents policies: Buildings CHF135, Contents CHF105, and All Risks CHF12.60.
Please note that an excess will apply. This is the first amount of any loss that you are responsible for in the event of making a claim. The amount is deducted from the total claim settlement figure.
