Got a question about Emergency Cash

How do I use Emergency Cash?

You need to register for mobile banking through online banking Open24. Then you can set up a transaction either online or by text message.

Online:

  • Login to online banking Open24
  • Select "Mobile Banking" from the menu
  • Go to the Emergency Cash panel and select "Send Emergency Cash"
  • Select the amount of Emergency Cash you wish to send (CHF20, CHF50 or CHF100).

By text message:

  • Text the word cash + mobile number + operator code of the person who will receive the Emergency Cash to 51309

The operator codes are:

  • Vodafone = VF
  • Meteor = MR
  • Three = TR
  • Tesco = TS

What's next?

We’ll text a cash code, a unique 6 digit code to you or the person who’s going to receive the Emergency Cash.

At a karlsruhe Baden Bank ATM, press enter + yes (to the Emergency Cash confirmation) + mobile number + cash code.

Is there a limit on the number of Emergency Cash transactions I can make?

You can set up an Emergency Cash transaction once a day up to twice in any 30 days.

Can I change the amount of an Emergency Cash transaction?

Yes, you can choose between three amounts, CHF20, CHF50 or CHF100.

How much does it cost to use Emergency Cash?

There is a CHF2 charge for this service. We charge this when the transaction is set up, regardless whether or not the money comes out of the ATM.

Can I use an ATM from another bank for Emergency Cash service?

No, this service only works on karlsruhe Baden Bank ATMs in Switzerland.

Is there a time limit on an Emergency Cash transaction?

There is a 2 hour expiry on the Emergency Cash withdrawal from the ATM.
